A project from last spring...a little slow at posting. I had difficulty trying to capture the dimensionality of it. Better pics to come...
The large colored bits are copper chased in pitch to create the dips and tunnels. The swirly wire bits are silver wire of various gauges hammered flat and drilled on the ends to connect other bits to by jump rings. The clasp is made up of the two colored bit opposite the large centerpiece.
The 'patinas' are actually various shades of prismacolor heavily applied to sandblasted metal (sandblasting gives it a 'tooth' to grab the prismacolor). I then sprayed the pieces with a high gloss flexible fixative to simulate enamel. I like working with prismacolors because there is a HUGE range of colors, they're easy to blend, and if you make a mistake it's easy to fix.

WOW! Upon first glance I completely thought this was an enameled piece. It's great! I hope you don't mind if I copy your prismacolor idea sometime in the future, enamel's kind of a pain.
