Is anyone else here going to Pennsic War?

I'll be spending this weekend trying to get my garb up to snuff as I'm hoping to get a job at the coffee shop, Your Inner Vagabond, and we're performing for our camp at the leader's wedding. No pressure at all. Pfeh...
I still have stuff to unpack to FIND my SCA gear then repack it all for the trip up. At least I have next week to get the packign done!

Pennsic War? Is that one of those medieval reenactment get-togethers, for the sword-and-magic-wand set? Sounds fun. I'd go if I could, but I'd probably arrive as some trader from 12th-century Arabia. "What the hell are you doing in the middle of England?!" "A thousand pardons, O Western infidel. My camel took a wrong turn at the last wadi & just kept going."
Hmmnn... What is this pennsic war you speak of?

I suppose I should look it up.

(Obviously, no... I wasn't planning on going :D)

Another view.
I'm a native Bulgarian stolen by the Turks in 1431 during one of their many invasions and sold to a Caravaner for a cask of wine, so you'd fit in just fine! It's a gathering of all 'realms' in the 'known-world'. There's a Mongol camp, a Japanese camp...etc.
I wish I had a camel...

It's my chance to escape for a little while. Rather like a real Brigadoon as it only exists for 2 weeks out of the year and people speak of it in whispers with fondness in their eyes. I get to play dress up and not get looked at as if I were any crazier than the umpteen-thousand other people there!

Are you sure? Camels have a strong smell, & that's just the animals themselves. When one drops a camel-pie, then things really start to stink. They can be temperamental, too.
Camels are rather stinky. Maybe a bicycle disguised as one then. :P
